49 And He said to them, How is it that you had to look for Me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary [as a duty] for Me [a]to be in My Father’s house and [occupied] about My Father’s business? Luke 2:49-Amp Bible Classic Version
- This blog’s purpose is to establish, strengthen, and expand the regrouping of our fellowship, under the banner of OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS WEEKLY, as a self-asserting African American Lutheran Free Congregation-Chicago Plus i.e. self-organized especially but by no means only limited to or exclusively of the Midwest.
- Our purpose is also making a clean break from mere affiliation with the top- down primarily Euro-American Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) tradition by at once spiritually, consciously, and structurally transitioning to the bottom-up historically established cultural tradition of the Black American Church -albeit as a Black Lutheran free congregationalist fellowship.
3. The major goal within our purposes is resuming our teleconference ministry, with video conference capabilities, via our ongoing conference call account with the Free Conference Call service of Southern California.
4. Our strategy is both being and continually becoming an essentially Senior Pastor/Executive Director and Black Liberation Theology led free African American Lutheran congregationalism in the Rev. Dr, Martin Luther King, Jr. tradition although distinctively as a Black Church African American Lutheran fellowship .
5. By Black free Lutheran congregationalist we mean the African American congregational relationship with God thru Jesus Christ who is the head of the Church he founded. We also mean we believe “each {free Black Lutheran congregationalist} church “is independent and autonomous, and should {indeed must} be able to determine its own worship, governance, and beliefs” completely unfettered by any other man made ecclesial authority.
6. Some tactical supports for advancing our strategy include, but by no means are limited to, the following ministries.
7. THE NICODEMUS HOUR: Reformation’s Born Again Second Chances Diaconate -as a contribution to the LIVE FREE USA and its affiliate LIVE FREE ILLINOIS’ initiatives against permanent criminal justice system punishment.
8. ON GUARD: Reformation’s Community Violence Intervention {CVI} safety ministry, in coalition with LIVE FREE USA and its affiliate LIVE FREE ILLINOIS, advocating a 24/7 front door desk monitor at Maple Pointe Apartments, a HUD housing complex, 150 W, Maple Street, Chicago’s Southwest Loop.
9. Our Day-To-Day Operations include networking with the LIVE FREE ILLINOIS affiliate of LIVE FREE USA by meeting with their Organizer and Policy Director, Ms. Artinese Myrick, MSW, the first week of December 2024.
An epilogue is a concluding section of a literary work that provides new information to help the reader understand the story and wrap up any loose ends:
“Francis, rebuild My Church, falling into ruins all around you.” The Franciscan sacred advocacy tradition of Christian Church architecture.
Respectfully Curated and Submitted: Rev. Joel Washington {Khunanpu Sangoma}, Senior Pastor/Executive Director, OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS WEEKLY: Reformation African American Lutheran Free Congregation-Chicago, Southwest Loop, C/o Washington, 150 W. Maple Street, Chicago IL 60610, #2011, 11-23-24
